Additional Background	This database contains life expectancy at birth and by age group for the United States. Data from 1900-199 contain only life expectancy at birth, not life expectancy for age or age groups. Data from 2000-present contain single years, i.e., life expectancy at birth, at age 1, etc. As shown, race categories change over time. 1900-1999 contains three race categories: All Races, Black, and White. These do not report any ethnicity, i.e., Hispanic. 2000-present contain six race and ethnicity categories: Total Total Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native non-Hispanic total Asian, non-Hispanic total Black, non-Hispanic total White, non-Hispanic total.
